Lodz Amateur Theatres Review ŁóPTA – a nationwide review of amateur theatres which has been held for years on the second weekend of October. This year’s upcoming edition will be the 33rd Open Review addressed to a group of amateur theatres presenting various theatrical forms such as: dance theatre, movement theatre, live word theatre, song theatre, one-actor theatre, puppet theatre, pantomime, performance, shadow theatre. Ensembles participating in the Review may perform in the competition or outside the competition. The participants are young people, adults and seniors alike. Each day of the Review ends with talks with the jury and an open discussion forum, and on Saturdays and Sundays before noon, there are theatre workshops for the participants of the Review. The Review is accompanied by the ŁóPTAk festival newspaper. This year’s edition is planned for 9-11 October in the online version.

Lodz Theatre Meetings – the Lodz Theatre Meetings were the most important Polish festival promoting new phenomena in the field of theatre avant-garde and the oldest cultural event in Lodz. Until 2018, 41 editions were held. In 2019 and 2020, LTM did not receive support from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and disappeared from the theatre map of Poland.
Their tradition went back to the early 1960s. They were an annual review of the achievements of non-institutional exploratory and experimental theatre. For several years, the LTM
programme has been extended to include world-class European theatres. Until 2012, the Festival saw about 15-29 performances in cycles: Presentations, Competition, Accompanying Performances.

The National Recitation Contest – the LHC is the organiser of the NRC municipal and regional preliminaries. The main organizer of the competition is the Theatre Culture Society, Main Board in Warsaw. The competition is comprised of: the Recitation Tournament, Singing Poetry Tournament, One-Actor Theatres Tournament and the Word Tournament. This year’s municipal preliminaries will be held on 5, 6 September and the region preliminaries on 19, 20 September. The competition is accompanied by workshops for reciters and individual consultations with the jury.
