Can culture be seen in economic terms – as a product? Financial considerations in the cultural world
are controversial. On the one hand, the world of culture sees the need to make its activities more
economical, and on the other, concerns about whether works – cultural products – can be realistically
valued financially.
The Lodzkie Voivodship has become a partner of the international project "Financing the influence on
regional development of cultural heritage valorization" – FINCH, implemented under the INTERREG
EUROPE Program, whose aim is to develop the most beneficial for the preservation of cultural
heritage and cultural development, and at the same time are economically effective.
Activities undertaken within the FINCH project are based on the exchange of knowledge and
experience of partners from Poland, Italy, Germany, Greece, Romania and Finland, joint organization
of meetings in the form of workshops, study visits, knowledge exchange – aimed at developing
solutions that can be used for even more effective financing of culture.
The involvement of experts, practitioners and culture animators allows to adapt the developed
solutions to the real needs of cultural institutions operating at the local and regional level.
