„5 MINUTES FOR OBEREK” ALL POLAND DANCE CONTEST named after Jacek Lewandowski
During the annual meetings, dancers compete in the category of traditional Oberek for authentic couples and stylized Oberek for folklore groups. The undertaking activates the dancers and preserves and popularizes the traditional folk dance. An important aspect of the project is to create an opportunity to meet and observe the dancers and the achievements of choreographers dealing with folk dance, on the one hand in the traditional form, and on the other, treating this form as a starting material for their own vision of folk dance. The presentation of Oberek from all over Poland, both dance and music, shows the diversity and is an example of how one dance can be different depending on its origin and experience.
